Logging in

Note, you must have an existing account on your website which is tied to the CU LDAP aka your identikey username. If you are in need of an account please reach out to ciresithelp@colorado.edu and please provide your identikey username, CU email address, as well as your full name.

  1. While on the CU VPN, browse to “admin-cires.colorado.edu/user @ or your-site-name.edu/user’
  2. Use your CU Identikey username and password
  3. You will now be logged in and may begin making edits and new content.

Note that Drupal ALWAYS has a login that utilizes the ‘/user’ path

Depending on your editing needs, you will be assigned a role type. Each role has varying degrees of permissions on the site.

Creating a Resource

Using the administrative toolbar, hover over ‘Content’ then select → ‘Add new Content’ → ‘Resource’

Filling in the Resource content fields

1.) Resource Group, select the resource group your new resource belongs to, e.g. ‘CMC Minutes’.

2.) Give your resource a title, subtitle and body if desired.

3.) If your resource requires a thumbnail, you may upload one within the ‘thumbnail’ field

4.) To upload a PDF or document select the, ‘media’ button and upload a document and once uploaded, select the ‘insert selected’ button to pin this file to your resource.

Filling in the Resource Metatdata

Within the second tab labeled, ‘Metadata’ you have more specific options to add links, or a date to your resource. The date field is important if your content is being sorted via a date ( e.g. for CMC minutes ) so always be sure to add a date for your minutes within this field.

Save

  • Select the ‘Save’ button to save your Resource item.
