5 Common Crop Types

There are different crop types various purposes. When uploading media, you need to select each crop, draw the bounding box over the portion of the image you wish to crop and be sure to hit save on the media pop up box. Know that if your image is too small or you didn’t fill out any required field you will have notifications at the top of your pop up modal for your media image.

Card Crop → Used on cards across the site

Large Crop → a fall back for our cards, is not currently used but may be utilized in the future for new components

Thumb → Used in reference cards

Then be sure to Save the content itself or your image will not be inserted and the crops will not take affect.

Note you can make updates to these crops at any time for a singular image. You can either navigate to a piece of content using the image - or - you can go to content → media and make updates here to specific images. Second Note: Not all users are permitted this higher level of media access.

Editing Existing Media

You may find a reason to need to ‘re crop’ or change the metadata on an image. You can do this by first editing a piece of content it exists on, hover over the image and select the pencil icon. A modal will pop up where you can make edits as needed.

Note that if you edit a piece of media it edits it EVERYWHERE so if you updated an image that was used on a landing page, a card and a news item.. your updates and crops persist across all usage.
