The purpose of this flow chart is to assist CI and Federal employees with avenues for dealing with conflict in the NOAA work centers. It is not to be utilized by federal employees that have concerns or issues with other federal employees.

*Mandatory Reporter: All employees with the authority to hire, promote, discipline, evaluate, grade, formally advise, or direct faculty, staff, or students are considered "responsible employees" and must report alleged misconduct to OIEC. This includes, but is not limited to resident advisors, teaching assistants, professors, graduate instructors, academic advisors, coaches, or other university employees with supervisory authority.

Definitions of terms within the guide:

Science advisor 
The federal employee assigned to each CI employee in a lab that helps support their projects. 

Systemic issue 
An issue that is happening with several people and could be a policy issue

Performance vs. personnel issue
Performance is related to the work responsibilities, and personnel issues are interpersonal (how we treat each other)

Lab CIRES Lead
The CIRES employee assigned to each lab supports the CIRES scientists and is connected to the CIRES administration.

CIESRDS A/S Manager
CIESRDS Administrative and Science Manager is a CIRES Admin team member responsible for the Cooperative Agreement and sits at the DSRC.
